Illinois Lawyer Sues Ex-Fiancé for Jilting Her Four Days Before Planned Wedding

A Chicago lawyer is suing her Ex-Fiancé because he dumped her four days before her wedding.

According to the article in the Chicago Tribune, she had spent nearly $95,000 on the wedding. Yes, you read that right. $95k. She says that he has not wanted to marry her for over a year, but led her on, and because of his lies, she is entitled to be reimbursed for her wedding expenses.

If you are spending that kind of money for your wedding, consider a prenuptial agreement. The Statute of Frauds states that no one can be reimbursed for a promise to marry, unless that promise is in writing.

Call the Gosteli Law Firm at (855) 4IL-ATTY (445-2889) to find out if a preuptial agreement is right for you.
